Chinese New Year

People may not know this but I do celebrate Chinese New Year. It's a great time if you have already failed your New Year's resolution to reset them for Chinese New Year. It's a cultural significance for me internally. Having a cultural heritage that is steeped in spirituality is a blessing. In the past though, I have seen it as a curse. I felt like I wasn't accepted growing up, and entering the modelling world... apparently I was too ethnic.

Yes, I gathered that I do not have a mainstream appearance since the majority of the population in this country is Caucasian. It's not like I am able to bleach my skin and do cosmetic surgery. I didn't get to choose my skin tone when I was born. It wasn't until I started modelling and seeing the images that I produced that I started to believe in myself, and trust my body. The heavens don't make mistakes :).

We live on the same planet, so every nation is my neighbour. There are no boundaries or divisions... or at least there shouldn't be. Much the same, Chinese New Year isn't only just exclusively for Chinese people. Anyone can celebrate and join in on the festivities.
