Hey everyone,
You may have noticed that I had been rather missing in action for the past few weeks. First of all I do apologise, as some of you are aware that I recently lost a friend and I had been grieving and trying to rebuild myself and work out how am I going to live in a world without their presence. Art and creativity has always been my way of coping with whatever the world throws at us, and this time it is no exception. I could spend this entry talking about my crazy cooking adventures or my photography successes but I figure out that I might leave that for another time. Today, I have exciting news that I am really proud of! After scrambling to put the finishing touches last night (was almost an all nighter but I was determined to get it done), I am now happy to say that my first ever show reel showing off samples of my modeling portfolio is now released!
Very very proud of myself since I've never used created a video before. I had this idea in my head for a while.. took a lot longer to execute than planned but now I get to watch it over and over again and get teary eyed. I think it achieves what I wanted it to do, to tell a story of my modeling journey so far. From the images I had taken over the years to the different phases of my logo changes, all telling a story of where I have been and the direction i'm heading towards. I must say it was very nostalgic and really embodies what "Edrenalin" means to me. I was reminded of all the great photographers I have worked with over the years and from around the world, as well as the great experiences I had there
I won't bore you with every detail but there were some funny and tedious moments during the creation of this video. Getting the timing right to tell the story I wanted, and writing a book, I started to run out of pages to right on... as in I was running out of pictures to use for the slideshow since I was reserving other photos for future video plans, but in the end I threw some of these in and figured that I just need to go and shoot some more which isn't a bad solution. Sometimes, I chose the incorrect video effects for some segments and when I played it back I would see this random visual that made me burst in spontaneous laughter but given that if I was making this video with another kind of vision it might have just worked lol. Oh and by the time I uploaded it to YouTube, the site was down for maintenance :p.
I'd love to hear your feedback so feel free to comment, and these would definitely help shape future videos I create. It was so much fun... but time consuming... to do, I'd love to give it another go :). Without further ado, I present my first show reel video. Just click the play button on the video box below, sit back and enjoy :).
