On Saturday, 24th July 2010 I decided to document a day in the life of me as a social experiment. Inspired by Ridley Scott and Kevin MacDonald's global phenomena, I took out my camera and recorded a snippet of my life over one day. However, in my enthusiasm, I did realise that I did not complete the selection criteria specified for this project, for example answering the questions they asked (which I'll probably back fill in later videos) and the time and editing requirements (I had a lot happening on that day that produced an 18 minute long documentary). I proceeded with my project anyway, considering that I was documenting my life for me and also for my readers.
The concept came about for Life in a Day, was that on the 24th day of the 7th month of the year, to document via video that depicted the lives of people all around the world for 24/7. The footage used will be made into a feature film that will premiere at the famous Cannes Film Festival, and will serve as a record of what life was like on this chosen day so that, like a time capsule, for the generations to come, they could see how we all lived.
A big thank you to all my friends who gave their permission to feature in this video. You really added some great flavour and funny moments to this clip. The process was fun and quite insightful for me. It was a day, that for some reasons was quite eventful. Here are the results of my footage for you all to see below. To all my readers, I hope you enjoy this up close and personal look into a day of my life. Your comments and feedback are most welcome.
